5 again

For this week’s blog I was tasked with creating something with paperclips. I thought back to when I was five years old. I talked to several people about what they do with paperclips when they are bored. A lot of people like to hook all of the clips together in a chain, so people made the clips into letters. I did neither; I remember I would obsessively bend half the clip vertical so the clips other half would act like a stand. I was always interested in balancing things, be it pencils, eraser heads or paperclips. So I took this idea and I used pliers to make simple little photograph stands using only four paperclips

Intresting photo I took

I thought the artist among our class would appreciate this. Makes me think of a delta or root system, it seems very organic to me.

I remeber from class two weeks ago

I remember how incredible busy it was outside. I had an interesting conversation with a classmate about the circular nature of religions like Taoism and Buddhism. I liked the woman in class that showed extreme close ups of pine cones.

No sight class review

I thought that the women that did the beatbox project were very creative. I think the idea to utilize all of our senses is a good teaching tool to help with our creativity

not seeing

I recorded several different people describing themselves.  For each person’s first recording they described themselves accurately in their own words.  In people’s second recording I had them fabricate lies about them.  Below I randomized each true/false sequence.  I want the listener to visualize in their “mind’s eye” each participant and also which statement is false or true.  I think it is interesting that how a person talks can convey multiple meanings to a listener.  The listener may find the speaker to represent many stereotypes that are not necessarily accurate.  When playing the clips for other people I noted that each listener could interpret the tone, accents, and content of what is said differently.

I had trouble uploading the file. i will try later and will bring audio to campus

Surprise- josh Lozinak

I have been stumped for two weeks on this project.  All I can think of is transformers and Russian dolls.   I am trying to receive credit, I hope I'm surprised.
